Are you overseas but cannot access certain services? Is youtube blocked? Are you in the airport and they are serving you ads (which mess up gmail...) Does your mac-mail not work? Are certain programs not connecting to the internet? Follow these instructions (given that you are in Penn Engineering and have a mac). Screw using proxy sites (which often glitch up and are insecure for gmail.com and facebook.com). By using this everything is encrypted through the seas servers.
- Open up terminal by typing in cmd + space. Type in "terminal." Press enter.

- Type in 'ssh [insert_your_username_here]@seas.upenn.edu -fND 8080'
Type your password when it prompts for it.
Note that your password won't be shown at all (no "*****" but it is actually being entered)

- Now open up 'System Preferences' (again, use spotlight or cmd+space to search for it)
- Click on Network

- Click on the Ethernet on the left (assuming you're connected via ethernet, if not click on airport)
- Click on advanced
- Click on the "proxies" tab and change the settings to the ones listed below.

- Now everything should work. You have to retype in the command into "terminal" every time you restart your computer or logout. If your internet doesn't connect, try typing in the terminal command again.
